I want to thank each and every one of you for your support and encouragement during this campaign. I have learned a lot about true support and friendship and, I will never forget all that you have done to make this a success.
I thank Stephen Grollnek and Mario Duron for clean and straight forward campaigning. As opponents I could not have asked for any more!
I am so pleased to be working again with Joe Garcia. I welcome Clarence Shaw with open arms. But I am saddened that a man that I respect so much, who has given his heart and soul to this community, and supported me 110%, Dan Kirby, was not re-elected. I am proud to say that Dan is not just a colleague, but a friend that I treasure. All of Council candidates ran great campaigns and it is clear that they all care deeply about this community and I look forward to working with them in the future.
Now the work begins. I’m excited and am ready to go to work for this community and its citizens. The campaign was truly special because it brought me to so many new and wonderful people. I heard many perspectives and opinions. I would like to continue that level of communication and anticipate continuing the “coffees” in the neighborhoods a couple of times a year or if a topic that needs addressed comes up. So, I am asking those of you who assisted in arranging those met and greets that you help me in the future. Occasionally, I will also be asking my council colleagues to join me in these gatherings.
We started this campaign as a team and a team we will remain! I hope you will all let me know what you are thinking, your points of views and suggestions.
Again, I cannot thank you enough. I am honored to be surrounded by such an exceptional group of people.
All my best with love and admiration,
Mary Ann Lutz, Mayor-Elect (wow that sounds so COOL!)

Thank each and every one of you for exercising your right to vote yesterday. Our new Mayor won by a landslide! And while less than 3500 people voted, it was a true sign of great things to come from our new Mayor and City Council. We hope you will all be there on May 5th when Mary Ann is sworn in. Expect a wonderful future for Monrovia!
We had a lot of fun watching the vote counts come in last night at Mary Ann’s party at Rudy’s Mexican Grill. Here are some photos.

Dear Friends,
As you know the election is only one week away. I appreciate the support you have shown me in this campaign.
Now the next step is to make sure that we get out the vote. It is also important that the incumbents remain on the Council. Here is a letter of support written by Mayor Rob Hammond.
Let’s get out the vote and go “green” at the same way. Take this information and letter and email it to 5+ friends. Ask that they pass it along as well.
With this type of a campaign we are sure to alert and remind the citizens of the election and support Joe, Dan and myself at the same time.
Thank you so very much for your support!

The Monrovia Chamber of Commerce hosted a City Council Forum on March 24, which was also shown live on KGEM, and streamed live on their website. If you didn’t have a chance to see the live forum, you can still see it on www.kgem.tv. Both the Mayoral Forum and the City Council Forum will continue to play both on the station (local Cable Access KGEM) and on the internet until the local election on April 14, 2009.
Both forums were officiated by the Pasadena Area League of Women voters. Thank you to the supporting organizations!

Friday, Feb, 13, 2009 was a great time. I was in Sacramento, CA with the YMCA Youth & Government Delegation. These young people are an inspiration.
